Shah Rukh Khan’s Son, Aryan Khan, appears in Court in cruise drugs case
Aryan Khan. Son of superstar Shah Rukh Khan, appeared before a Mumbai court this afternoon. Aryan along with seven others was arrested on 3rd october following a raid at a party on a cruise ship off the coast of Mumbai by the Narcotics Control Bureau or NCB. In the raid on Sunday 13 grams of cocaine, 21 grams of charas, 22 pills of MDMA and 5 grams of MD in all were yielded, the NCB said.
The 23-year-old is arrested on the charges that include purchase, possession and use of banned substances. According to reports he was produced in court on Sunday evening where the anti-drugs agency was granted custody of those arrested till today. Aryan Khan’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde demanded bail, arguing that his client had been arrested only on the basis of chat messages. “Aryan had no ticket, no cabin or seat on board the cruise. He was there because he had been invited. He didn’t even have a boarding pass. Nothing has been found on him. He was arrested on the basis of chat only.”
The Narcotics Control Bureau has sought longer custody of Aryan Khan and told the court today that they need him in custody till October 11 for questioning him. “Links in the form of chats etc. show the involvement of international cartels. It is a group of persons, like a gang,” the agency’s lawyer told the court. Besides Aryan Khan, the NCB arrested seven others including Munmun Dhamecha, Nupur Sarika, Ismeet Singh, Mohak Jaswal, Vikrant Chhoker, Gomit Chopra, Arbaaz Merchant in the drugs related case. The cruise company in a statement on Sunday said it had nothing to do with the incident.
