Vividhta ka Amrit Mahotsav

The ‘Vividhta ka Amrit Mahotsav’ is being organized at Rashtrapati Bhavan to celebrate and showcase the rich diversity of India. This Mahotsav has been structured in seven distinct editions dedicated to different regions: North-East, South, North, East, West, Central, and Union Territories.

The second edition focuses on the Southern states, presenting the rich heritage and vibrant cultures of Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Lakshadweep, and Puducherry. The festival provides a platform for artists, artisans, performers, writers, and culinary experts from these regions to showcase their talents through cultural performances, handicraft and handloom exhibitions, literary enclaves, informative workshops, and food courts.

The Mahotsav is open to the general public from March 6 to 9, 2025, between 10 AM and 8 PM. Entry is through Gate No. 35 of Rashtrapati Bhavan (where North Avenue meets Rashtrapati Bhavan). Bookings can be made online at visit.rashtrapatibhavan.gov.in.

In her speech, President Murmu highlighted that this edition of the Mahotsav allows people to experience the vibrant cultural heritage of five states—Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh—and two Union Territories—Lakshadweep and Puducherry. She expressed happiness that about 500 artisans and weavers are participating in this celebration and urged people to attend the festival to learn about the art and culture of South India, thereby boosting the morale of all artisans and artists.

The ‘Vividhta ka Amrit Mahotsav’ serves as a testament to India’s unity in diversity, offering visitors an opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich cultural tapestry of the Southern regions. By bringing together various art forms, crafts, and cuisines, the festival not only celebrates cultural heritage but also supports the livelihoods of artisans and promotes cultural exchange among different parts of the country.
