Till 30 June State Bank of India Waives Service Charges for all ATM Transactions: Coronavirus Pandemic

State Bank of India has taken great initiative during Coronavirus Pandemic and has decided to put off the charges on all ATM transactions on SBI ATMs as well as other bank’s ATM’s for the next 3 months.

The statement is issued by the bank website as well as on Twitter handle as – “In view of the announcement made by the finance minister on 24 March 2020, State Bank of India has decided to waive ATM Service Charges for all ATM transactions made on SBI ATMs and other bank ATMs on account of exceeding the free number of transactions up to 30 June 2020. Stay Home, Stay Safe.”

Our Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs of India Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitaraman on 24th March 2020 had declared that no charges will be taken or imposed on the bank customers for the three months, on their cash withdrawal from ATMs. Along with that, she had also cleared that debit cardholders will also be able to make ATM transactions for free during this COVID-19 crisis.

Along with that, she had also revealed that there will be no charges or fees on the minimum account balance for the upcoming three months.

Before then this pandemic, the Metro Cities which were allowed for 3 free transactions are Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, and Hyderabad at SBI ATM and 5 free transactions on other bank’s ATM’s.

Along with that the Bank has also shared a message on their Twitter handle to maintain social distancing while visiting the ATM and to stay safe.
