A tragic incident has come to light in Mumbai, where 25-year-old TCS manager Manav Sharma ended his life due to alleged harassment by his wife. According to reports covered by ABCRNews, Manav was found dead in Agra on February 24. Before taking this extreme step, he recorded a 6-minute-57-second video detailing his struggles. In the video, he pleaded for awareness about men’s issues, stating, “Please, someone talk about men. They feel so alone.”

The Background

Manav’s father, Narendra Sharma, a retired Air Force officer, revealed that his son had married on January 30, 2024. Initially, everything seemed normal, but soon, tensions arose. Manav’s wife allegedly threatened him with false accusations and expressed her desire to live with her lover.

On February 23, the couple returned from Mumbai, and Manav dropped his wife at her parental home. However, he later received threats from his in-laws. The following morning, overwhelmed by distress, he took his own life.

Wife’s Response

Manav’s wife, Nikita Sharma, has refuted all allegations. She claimed that Manav was battling alcoholism and had previously attempted suicide. She further alleged that he physically abused her under the influence of alcohol.

Investigation Underway

The police have registered a case following the family’s complaint and have initiated an investigation. This tragic event is reminiscent of a similar case in Bengaluru, where techie Atul Subhash also died by suicide due to alleged marital harassment.
